Stunning performances capture the beauty of Eid in SIS

Eid is fun and great ! It’s time to celebrate it!!

Eid – the festival that upholds the spirit of brotherhood and love was celebrated on August 30, 2017 at SIS with great gusto.

Little kindergartners coming to school in their best traditional attire to celebrate it gave a good start to add to the sweetness of the celebration. The wall hangings to commemorate the same illumined the campus with the festive mood as well. The day brought in lots of cheer for children as they had come ready with sharing of food in their respective classrooms.

The formal full fledged KG assembly included the story of sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim and the rituals of Hajj, a skit portraying a day of Eid and how this feast is prepared in every household for the family, friends and relatives who visit to exchange greetings, songs and dance performances that followed on etc. Children were able to understand the festival which brings the message of love, brotherhood and goodwill.

Meanwhile, the Arabic department left no stone unturned in imbibing the spirit of forbearance and brotherhood in all the audience consisting of students from grades 1 to 5 by depicting the Haj rituals step by step in all its fullness together with songs, dances and video presentations. The Principal in his address spoke on the spirit of sacrifice that this blessed feast portrays.

Every moment of teacher’s get together at noon sang of love and beauty. The joys of Eid also included simple pleasures like enjoying ‘sewaiyan’ and few other sweet dishes prepared and served by Muslim teachers.

The day was concluded with a vote of thanks marking Eid as a day of thanks giving where Muslims and all in a brotherly and joyful atmosphere offer gratitude to the Almighty for helping them to fulfill their spiritual obligations.
