KALA-Kuwait "Mayookham 2017" Impressive Cultural Show

Impressive Cultural show of KALA Kuwait, Mayoogham-2017 concluded stringed with variety shows and musical evening. Sreeramakrishnan, Hon Speaker of Kerala Legislative Assembly formally inaugurated Mayookham-2017 at Qadsiya Sporting Club. He wondered that in contrary to centenary celebrations of “No caste for me” declaration by Great saga of renaissance Sreenarayanaguru, we witness him being viewed by non-secular wing as religious leader. He also stated the current era the worship is considered to stimulate riots.

Famous Film-stage actor and cultural activist V.K Sreeraman inaugurated Free Malayalam Education program for this year. In his address he described that the language should be practiced skillfully and not through its complicated grammar. Sajeev M George presented report on the schedule for the current year in his report.

Representing Indian Embassy, S. Sibi Second Secretary (Labour) delivered the distinguished address. KALA Kuwait Gen Secretary Saji Janardhanan welcomed while President G. Sugathakumar presided over. Several bonafide personalities of Kuwait and media personalities participated in the function.

Sreeramakrishnan presented that yearly Ramesh Diaspora Award constituted by KALA-Kuwait in year 2013, to E.M Kabeer, a social activist chosen from gulf area, considering their contributions to the society.

Praseeth Karunakaran, Joint Secretary of KALA shared the cherished memories and described wonderful contributions of late E.K Nayanar. Thereafter V.K Sriraman launched the KALA-Film Society by releasing the logo. Thereafter the prizes for the winners of literary competitions held by literary wing of KALA were distributed.

Representing Main sponsors of Bahrain Exchange Company (BEC) Mathews Varghese, (Country Manager), John Mathew (Humanist, Industrialist and social activist) felicitated the function. Iqbal Kuttamangalam (Social Actvist and Mathrubhasha Samithi Convener) KALA Treasurer Ramesh Kannapuram, C.K Noushad, Vanithavedi Kuwait President Shantha R Nair, Progressive Professional Forum Gen Secretary Anil Kumar and Alwina Hanna Saji, Gen Secretary Balavedi witnessed the function. The prizes for the winners of Balakalamela were distributed. Gold medals for KALA Prathibha Rohit S Nair and KALA Thialakam Nanda Prasad were distributed by the Mathews Varghese, (Country Manager- BEC) followed by the Trophy to Overall winner for Gulf Indian School.

Mayookham-2017 started with the display of Cultural art forms including dances. Songs, skits and the dance choreographed with the theme of National integration. The programs concluded with the musical bonanza lead by Rajalakshmy, Sudeep and team.
