Balavedi Kuwait conducted a face to face workshop with a highly acclaimed poetry writer and children’s story writer Sippy Pallipuram. The workshop was held in Kala Center Mangaf from 6:30 pm. The workshop mainly focused on developing children’s writing skills. The welcoming speech was given by Balavedi Kuwait President. The Program was inaugurated by Sippy Pallipuram Himself .Sippy Pallipuram has won many awards like Kendra Sahitya Academy Award and Kerala Sahitya Academy Award. He is a Teacher by Profession, and he has written over 80 poetry works. Some of his poetry works are Oridathoridatoru Kunjunni which is about the memories of the poetry writer Kunjunni Mash. His Book Unikalku nootiyetu Gurudeva Kadhakal (108 Folk Tales for Children) received Kerala Sahitya Academy Award in 2013. He mainly discussed how he became a Poetry writer with the Children. He got inspired by his Grandmother as she always told him many stories. In 1958 he participated in a story writing competition and won the First prize. From that day onwards he started his career as a story writer. He wrote Stories for many children’s Magazines. He was selected to attend a writing camp conducted in 1979 by Kerala Sahitya Academy in which he got a chance to meet Famous story and poetry writers of his time. Their experiences ignited a Flame of Writing in Him. He also told an answer to a very Important Question that why children are addicted to mobile phones? It is because parents are not interested in telling stories to their children which can defeat mobiles phones and increase children's Imagination. We also tried to write a little Poem of 8 lines. The experience was fantastic. The children who wrote beautiful poems of Great Beauty got gifted with his published book signed by him. I also thank Balavedi for conducting such an informative Workshop.
