Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan has always been a child-centered institution, considering every aspect of student development; be it in the school curriculum or their career ahead.

Consequently, precisely six years back, an entrance exam coaching centre in association with the Triumphant Institute of Management and Education, Hyderabad was started with the motive of enabling children to pursue a career of high competence.

Bhavans have been successful in creating awareness amongst students about the emerging trends in career, and guiding them appropriately to achieve their goals.

This venture of Bhavans Kuwait has crossed a major milestone and it now functions independently under the name SCIENTIFIC EXCELLENCE ACADEMY KUWAIT (SEAK), set up in SALMIYA, BLOCK 10, KUWAIT.

Besides Entrance Coaching classes for 11 and 12, SEAK also conducts IIT Foundation Classes for classes 7 to 10. SEAK offers a unique IIT-Foundation programme aimed at students of the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th classes. This program focuses on strengthening the student’s conceptual clarity of the fundamentals in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry (Biology for class 9&10) and Reasoning. The course and tests are designed in a way that inculcates the habit of application of concepts thereby paving way for effective learning.

SEAK also offers two year comprehensive JEE Main and Advance coaching programme and NEET coaching for students interested in pursuing Engineering and Medicine respectively.

The orientation for the new batch of students for the academic year 2017-2018 was held on 15th April 2017 at the Bhavans auditorium. It started out with Mr. Sudhi (Physics Faculty) giving us an introduction and later the Orientation was very informatively conducted by the SEAK Co-ordinator Ms. Tessy where she explained in detail regarding the IIT Foundation Classes and the JEE Main and Advance Examinations and also NEET. It was very good to learn how we NRI students can get admissions in IIT, NIT’s IIIT’s via the DASA scheme.

We were told that the IIT Foundation course and tests are designed in a way that inculcates the habit of application of concepts thereby paving way for effective learning. It would also make the students understand and master basic concepts in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. This would encourage students to apply the concepts learnt to real-life situations. The programme will encourage school kids to look beyond textbooks for learning. This course aims not only to understand better what is taught in regular school classes, but also to develop the acumen which will give them a distinct edge over the rest of their peers. This results in better performance in board or final exams and lastly it aims at grooming students by providing inputs on Reasoning skills, Speed Maths, and Communication Skills. The IIT Foundation course also will help students prepare for various talent search exams and Olympiads.

We were then briefed about the Class Room Based Inputs in which each topic would be dealt with in two modules namely 1. Basic and Exercise Module and 2. Testing Module

The objective of Basic and Exercise Module is to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts. This is done with the help of our study material. Each chapter has been divided into subtopics to develop an in-depth understanding of each subtopic

The objective of the Testing Module is to test the students' grasp of concepts that have been taught in the class. The basic difference between the exercise module and the testing module is that the exercises would have no time limit, while test papers will have a time limit.

The testing module will include three types of tests
?Topic wise tests
?Cumulative tests and lastly
?Model Papers

Lastly, every year SEAK rewards its Brilliant Students of each Class a Merit Certificate and this year the STARS OF SEAK 2016-2017 were as below

Apart from being thrilled that I stood 2nd in the overall ranking in my IIT foundation Class 7, I feel truly privileged to be studying in Bhavans and also now be part of the SEAK Team.
