Kozhikode District Association, Kuwait organized 7th Anniversary Celebration ‘Kozhikode Fest 2017’

Thousands were present at Indian Central School, Jleeb al Shuyoukh on 3rd March 2017 open auditorium to witness ‘Kozhikode Fest 2017’, held to mark the 7th Anniversary of Kozhikode District Association, Kuwait.

The cultural session presided over by Mr. Rajagopalan.E, Association President held in connection with Kozhikode Fest 2017 was inaugurated by His Excellency Mr. Sunil K Jain, Ambassador of India to Kuwait by lighting the traditional lamp. In his inaugural address Ambassador praised the charity and other humanitarian activities carried out by the Association. Association President touched upon the major charity and humanitarian activities, arts and cultural activities, etc. that helped Kozhikode District Association to grow into a frontline organization in Kuwait.

General Convener Mr.Najeeb.P.V welcomed the gathering. Mr.Ramakrishnan.M, General Secretary also spoke on the various activities of the Association. Pavithran Theekkuni, famous poet was honoured with Gireesh Puthanchery Award instituted by the Association. The Ambassador presented the memento and General Secretary Mr. Ramakrishnan.M presented the cash award to Mr. Pavithran Theekkuni. Mr. Shereef Thamarassery, Arts and Cultural Secretary spoke on Gireesh Puthancherry Award and about the poet Mr. Pavithran Theekkuni who was selected for the award this year.

The souvenir titled ‘Ente Kozhikode’ published to commemorate the seventh anniversary of Association was released by Mr. Hameed Keloth, Patron of Association in the presence of Souvenir Convener Mr.Shyjith.K and Sponsorship Convener Mr.P.D.Ragesh to Q7 Mobile MD Mr. Hawas Abdulla, title sponsor and Mr. Aslam Ciba Manager, Eternity Travels , co- sponsor of Kozhikode Fest 2017.

Mr. Aboobacker K, Patron of the Association who was leaving Kuwait for good after 34 years of service was honoured on the occasion and a memento was presented to him by the President of the Association.

Mr. Santhakumar.M, Patron of the Association received from Mr.Muneer Marackan, Joint Secretary and Mr. Sameer Vellayil, Benefit Secretary the model of house to be provided to a family in Kozhikode District with the support Global International Trading.

Jleeb Al Shyouk Police Commander Colonel Ibrahim Abdul Razak, poet Mr. Pavithran Theekkuni, Association Patron Mr. Aboobacker.K, Al Mulla Group Marketing Manager Mr. John Simon, Q7 Mobile MD Mr. Hawas Abdulla, Eternity Travel Manager Mr. Aslam Ciba, Metro Medical Vice Chairman Mr. Hamza Payyannoor, Al Vaheeda Projects Company CEO Mr. Varghese Paul, Mahilavedi President Mrs. Vanisree Santhosh, Social Worker Mr. Habeeb Muttichoor and Indian Central School Principal Mrs Santa Mariam James spoke on the occasion.

Malabar Gold Country Head Mr. Afsal Khan, Grand Hyper Market Regional Director Mr. Ayoob Kecheri, Federal Bank Manager Mr.Nitin Jose, Al Ayees Trading Chairman Mr. Babu and Balavedi President Miss. Keerthana Pramod were present on the dais. Mr. Haneef.C , Treasurer of the Association expressed vote of thanks.

Mr. Regi Bhaskar who won Grand Jury award and Mr. Biju Muchukunnu who won viewers’ award for most popular short film in Nottam film festival 2016 were honoured on the occasion by Mr. Pavithran Theekkuni.

The cultural session was followed entertainment programmes. Mr. Nishad.K, Playback singer rendered melodious songs and Mrs. Rehna, known as queen of mappilappatu sang beautiful songs that everyone will cherish for a long time. The duo of Shihab Shan and Shabana with high pitched songs and dance made everyone to dance in tune with their steps. Mr. Raphi Kozhikode, Miss Namitha Sivakumar, Miss Sneha Rathidas and Miss Vismaya Brigit also entertained the audience with their songs.

Comedy show by film actor Mr. Nirmal Palazhy and his team members Mr.Pradeep Bal and Kabeer.C.T provided lots of fun and laughter to the crowd. Mr. Sarith Sukumaran enthralled the audience with his violence performance.

The event was attended by many distinguished personalities from different walks of life in Kuwait. The guests were received with thalappoli and chendamelam and it was a very good treat for eyes and ears.

Mr. Reji Mannel, who anchored various programmes for TV channels was the Compere of the event and with his impeccable style entertained the audience and Mrs. Remya as the co- anchor provided support. Prizes to raffle coupon winners were drawn on the occasion.

The huge success of ‘Kozhikode Fest 2017’ added another feather to the crown of Kozhikode District Association, Kuwait. Association thanked all those who helped to make ‘Kozhikode Fest 2017’ an unforgettable one.
