National and Liberation Day Celebration at ICSK Senior

The Indian Community School (Senior) conducted a special assembly on the occasion of the 56th National Day and 26th Liberation Day of Kuwait on 23rd February 2017. The enthusiastic and energetic students of class VIII hosted the event under the guidance of Mrs. K. Lamba. These two glorious anniversaries are very important for everyone in Kuwait, be it, citizens or expatriates, people impatiently await to celebrate it every year.

The students conducted diverse colourful programmes to highlight the social and cultural heritage of Kuwait. These values are reinforced daily, however each year during the National Day we celebrate the culture we live in a special manner. The assembly commenced with a procession by students in the traditional attire of Kuwait, emphasizing the cultural and religious values. This was followed by inspiring speeches about the history of Kuwait which enlightened the students with the glorious past. Students sang melodious songs, proclaiming the greatness of Kuwait and about its achievements. The audience also enjoyed the Arabic traditional dance performed by the students.

Dr.V.Binumon, the Principal of ICSK (Senior) appreciated the students and teachers for organizing a wonderful assembly and also emphasized in his speech that the Independence Day should be reviewed as a golden leaf in the history of Kuwait depicting the hard work of the ancestors, who strived hard to achieve sovereignty for their homeland. After the independence, the sovereign state contributed towards establishing peace and building better lives for its nationals.

The most important highlight of the assembly was the great humanitarian and benevolent works of the Amir of Kuwait His Highness, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for his whole hearted support to help the poor and needy all over the world. These compassionate efforts have brought Kuwait to the zenith of glory among the humanitarian countries in the Middle East. The school premises were adorned with the flags of the foster country. The assembly culminated with paying homage to the land and the ruler for the unswerving support extended to the Indian diaspora.
