Kottayam District Pravasi Association celebrated first Anniversar - Kottayam Fest 2017

Kottayam Fest 2017, with colourful programs on 10th March 2017 at Integrated Indian School Auditorium, Abbassia.
The meeting was presided over by Sri. Anoop Soman, the president of KODPAK. HE Sunil Jain, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, has inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp. HE Sunil Jain in his inaugural speech, appreciated the charitable activities of KODPAK in India and Kuwait and wished that these activities would be extended to more needy in future too. Sri. George Kalayil, General Secretary KODPAK, welcomed everyone to the event and expressed his thanks for all the support of the members and the well-wishers.
President Sri. Anoop Soman in his presidential address expressed that within this short span of one year KODPAK could help many needy people in Kuwait as well as back in Kerala and that it will continue to do such activities in future.
The Chief Guest of the function was Sri P.C. George MLA. In his felicitation speech Sri. P.C. George commented that KODPAK’s philanthropic activities in this short period of one year were unique and commendable. He congratulated all members of KODPAK for their sincere efforts and wishes that they continue to extend their support to more needy in Kuwait and Kerala. He expressed his concern for those who undergo harsh life in the labour camps and shelters in Kuwait and told that he will visit their camps during his stay in Kuwait. He also promised to raise their issues to bring them to the notice of Central Government. He inaugurated the innovative charity project of KODPAK, KANIVU 2017, which aim to undertake the educational expenses of 20 economically week students.
Felicitation Speeches were delivered by Mr. Shyju Damodaran, the famous football commentator and the well-wishers of KODPAK, Sri. Raju Bhaskar, Managing Director, Sahel Oman, Sri. George Varghese, Managing Director Al-Yusifi, Sri. Jayakrishnan Nair, Managing Director Sterling International, Sri. Hamsa Payyannoor, Managing Director Metro Mdical Centre, Sri. Antony Martin, etc.
The ceremony also honored the eminent personalities of Kuwait with Memento and Ponnada.
Sri Panthalam Balan, famous Malayalam playback singer and Smt. Radhika Narayan (Indian Voice fame), performed ‘Ganasadhya’ which made the evening memorable. The comperes Smt. Jisha and Sri. Jobi mesmerised the audience throughout with their lively presentation. Patron Sri. Sibichan Maliyekal, Program convenor Sri. Anish Nair, Vice President Sri. G.S. Bathar, Joint Secretary Sri. Dipin Prasad, Souvenir Convenor Sri. Jijo Kurien, Area Coordinators Sri. Ratheesh Kumbalath, Sri. Vijo KV and other executive committee members lead the smooth conduction of the event.
