Billava Sangha Kuwait Cricket Tournament 2017

In Continuation of the tradition of sports, Billava Sangha Kuwait held a 3rd Cricket Tournament in Abbasiya, played in great sportsman spirit on the 24th February 2017 at the Abbasiya cricket ground.

The event commenced with a prayer by Ms. Jyothi Sudhir Suvarna, an inauguration by the President Mr. Raghu Poojary and an introduction of the 6 participating teams by Sports Secretary Mr. Sandesh Amin. Mr. Satish Kunder, advisor of the association, in his speech explained about the scholarship plans and the Gejjegiri initiation. He also urged everyone to strengthen BSK by registering themselves as members if not done so already.

The winners of the tournament were:
Billava Brothers – Winners (Mr. Dheeraj Salian - Captain)
Baidashree Cricketers - Runners up (Mr. Rohith Poojary – Captain)

Prizes were given for the outstanding performers as:

Man of the Match - Mr. Dheeraj Salian (Billava Brothers)
Man of the Series - Mr. Sharath Kumar (Baidashree Cricketers)
Batsman of the Series - Mr. Sunil Kumar (Baidashree Cricketers)
Bowler of the Series - Mr. Praveen Bangera (Baidashree Cricketers)

Abbasiya Billava Cricketers
Biruver Friends

The commentators Mr. Amarnath Suvarna and Mr. Greenson D’Souza did an excellent job, while the scores were efficiently kept by Mr. Yashpal Poojary and all the matches were fairly refereed by the Sports Committee. The event was gracefully hosted by Mr. Amarnath Suvarna and capably photographed by Mr. Sandeep Kumar Attavar.

The Breakfast for the event was sponsored by the President Mr. Raghu Poojary, delicious lunch sponsored by the Reggae Billava Friends and Mineral Drinking water sponsored by Sonstep Typing Center.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and an invitation extended to everyone to come to the Family picnic on 24th March 2017 at the Fintas Garden, Kuwait from 9 am onwards.
