Indian Muslims need not despair: ET Mohammed Basheer, MP

Monday, February 27, 2017

The current circumstances in India need not make Indian Muslims despondent, Indian MP, ET Mohammed Basheer stated. He was speaking on the second day of the 4th Islamic Seminar on the topic “Indian Muslims, the present and the future,” organized by Kuwait Kerala Islahi Center (KKIC) Friday.

Adding that the Muslims will have to stand up to the challenges through relentless legal struggles, the MP exhorted Muslims to practice Islam in its true sense and to stay united to fight the false propaganda that is being spread against Islam.

Further he noted that one must not give in to baseless propaganda aimed at spreading fear and dividing the society by communal currents in the country. He cautioned against the sectarian fissures within the Muslim community leading to trading of accusations, “which will make it easier for the enemies to attain their nefarious objectives.”

TK Ashraf, General Convener of Wisdom Global Islamic Mission, for his part said that the real unity among Muslims can be achieved through the understanding of faith from the authentic texts. The community should rise above their differences to unite on common issues in the current times, he appealed to the audience. Noted speaker, Mujahid Balushery, spoke on the topic ‘Islam the natural religion,’ and presented the case for man’s subservience to the creator like the rest of the universe.

The Chairman of Ihia Turas Islami, Sheikh Tarik Sami Sultan Al Essa, inaugurated the event, while KKIC President PN Abdul Lateef Madani moderated the program. Masjid Al Kabeer Director, Rumi Al Rumi, Adeeb Al Ghasi (Souq Al Imarat) and Haris Aideed (FIMA) were the other speakers.
