Citizen arrested for publishing false news

Security forces arrested Khalifa Ali Al-Hashash, a Kuwaiti citizen, on charges of publishing "false news" over domestic affairs through social media, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said Monday.
Al-Hashash, whose arrest was upon a warrant by the public prosector, is accused of spreading false news over domestic affairs through social media, MoI Public Relations and Security Media Department said in a statement.
The department did not specify the nature of the false news Al-Hashash published.
The arrestee, born in 1979, was arrested in front of his house and was referred to the public prosecution, it said.
