14-11-16 saw the celebration of Children's Day at Salmiya Indian Model School with much pomp and vigor. The students were in for huge surprises at the Unique Assemblies where teachers took the initiative of going that extra mile to bring joy to their students.

Highlights of this spontaneous event included: "I Believe in Angels," a skit, Live Mimicry, Old but gold musical performances –etc.It was a refreshing change for the students to see their teachers in a different light than usual. While there were unexpected moments that left the crowd in glee, there were also moments of perfection that left the crowd wonder struck.

Principal Ms. Elizabeth Joseph in her vote of thanks appreciated the teachers for their efforts in presenting a wonderful show. The School also recognized the proud Winners of previously conducted Inter-House Activities. They were awarded Certificates for their praiseworthy excellence in a variety of events from Art to Sports. Principal wished Happy Childrens’ Day to the entire SIMs family by saying ”There is a Child hidden in all of us” – a statement true to its core.

The tiny tots of Primary Section too participated in various fun games, conducted by the department of physical education. Complete with an exclusive Assembly for the little ones, which included Dances by the teachers, the events of Primary Section certainly took the cake. A teacher being an excellent sport, dressed up as Chacha Nehru for the day, was the star attraction. Vice principal, Mrs. Anita Sadanand, in her vote of thanks, appreciated the efforts of the primary teachers in presenting a spectacular show. She insisted on the need for children to develop a strong personality. She gave a powerful message that “it takes courage to grow up and become who you are.“

The fun-filled day ended with the sweet distribution and a friendly basketball match. It was indeed a memorable, exciting fun filled day of thrills.
