Study to allow foreign investment without local agent

Foreign companies and investors may soon be allowed to own investments and open branches in Kuwait without the need for a local agent, local daily Al-Shahed news paper reported.

According to report, Director General of Kuwait Municipality Eng Ahmad Al-Manfouhi revealed that an international consultant is carrying out a study to identify
the financial centers in Kuwait where foreign investors can own investments.

He indicated that approvals for building licenses, commercial and health licenses as well as for exemption of taxes and customs for foreign companies will be required.
