Thrissur Association of Kuwait Celebrates Tenth Anniversary

Thrissur Association of Kuwait (TRASSK) conducted 10th Anniversary celebration “Maholsavam 2016”, a cultural bonanza on 21st October 2016 at American International School Auditorium, in Maidan Hawally. The mega event was commenced with a rally of Kerala’s traditional art forms such as ‘Panjavadhyam’ and ‘Thalam’ accompanied by Guests, officials and members to the stage.

A condolences message was delivered by Mr. Biju Kadavi for the demise of the association member Mr. Sahirsha followed by a silent prayer .Remembrance of great INDIAN soldiers who left us during recent terrorist attack was also part of the function.

Cultural meeting was started with a prayer song. Indian Embassy Second Secretary Mr. A.K.sreevastava, inaugurated the celebrations in the traditional way by lighting the lamp “Bhadradeepam”. In his inaugural speech, second secretary praised the socio-cultural activities of TRASSK and appreciated the attendance of a large crowd, especially the members of TRASSK. Mr.A.K.Sreevastava briefed the audience about the measures taken by the Embassy for the welfare of Indian Community in Kuwait. TRASSK President Mr. Sebastian Vathukadan presided the grand cultural meeting in the heavy packed Auditorium. During his presidential speech, he expressed his sincere thanks to all those who strived in previous years’ for the formation of TRASSK and setting up of its image. He requested to maintain the spirit of gatherings through which the social commitments can be achieved.

General Secretary Mr. Ajay Kumar briefed the current and upcoming association activities. Mr. John Simon, Marketing Manager of Almulla exchange rendered the felicitation speech and expressed their gratitude in main sponsoring the event. Association Vice President and Program Convener Mr.Sughunanath welcomed the audience. Felicitations were offered by Vanitha Vedi General Convener Mrs. Ambika Mukundan, Social Welfare Convener Mr. Biju Kadavi and Kalikkalam Co ordinator Master Ronald Frank. Treasurer Mr. Hari Kulangara proposed a vote of thanks.

TRASSK Media Convener Mr. Jeevaz released the Association’s Souvenir by handing over the first copy to Almulla exchange marketing manager Mr. John Simon. Top scorers of standard X & XII examinations were honored, and prizes were given by Mr.Joy C.Joseph,Mr.Venugopal Thayath,Mr.Murali Puthoor,Mr.Jayaram,Mr.Mohammed Rafi,Mrs.Nayana Santhosh,Varghese Echarath Mr.Bivin Thomas and Mr.Hari Kulangara. Association’s Velicham Scheme financial help was handed over to nominated members by Social welfare Convener Mr. Biju Kadavi , Social Welfare Joint Convener Mr.P.D.Paulose and Arts Convener Mr.Rajesh.

A token of appreciation was handed over to Association president from CITYGROUP CFO for support and contribution of idea, for arranging a bus route from Fahaheel to airport. The mega event “Maholsavam 2016” was sponsored by Almulla Exchange and co-sponsored by NSH. Thereafter, series of cultural programmes staged to enchant the audience.

The audience was mesmerized by the rocking performance of 1st prize winners of TRASSK Kalolsavam 2016.Welcome dance, Cinematic Dance and Naadan Paatu by members and children, Mimicri and "Nerampokku" (One man show) by Mr. Rajesh Thamburu. And the leading music band in Kuwait “Crimson Rays” Were the highlights of the event Electrifying musical extravaganza led by famous playback singer Mr. Najeem Arshad, Mr. Vibin Xavier and Mrs. Neethu Faizal (star singer fame), enthralled the crowded audience which attracted them to remain until the end of the programme. Programme concluded at about 10:30pm.
