Implementation of the proposal to set quota for certain nationalities residing in Kuwait requires careful consideration and thorough study in order to prevent negative
consequences, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources familiar with ongoing efforts to address the lopsided demographic structure.
Minister of Social Affairs and State Minister for Planning and Development Hind Al-Subaih has been quoted as saying that the ministry will continue working towards the implementation of its plans whether the Parliament was dissolved or not.
She affirmed the plans on reforming the demographic structure have been referred to the Cabinet for evaluation and further study, admitting it will take a long time before
these plans are executed due to a number of considerations.
She added the relevant decisions will be issued gradually — either by the Ministry of Interior or the Public Authority for Manpower.
