LOA Annual day Celebrations bring out the creative best in students

Schools wait for this event for the whole year; students anticipate the day; the teachers hold their breath for the day. The entire school works hard for this day.
The Annual Function!

Anticipation, hard work, wait … it all reflected when Indian Learners Own Academy, Kuwait, celebrated its magnificent and reverberating 6th Annual Day with great pomp and fervour on Tuesday, 27th September, 2016. The day at the school displayed excellence, highlighting academic achievements of the school.
Zeal was in the air and it was felt all over the school premises. The school ground was packed with students from all the sections. The teaching staff, administrative staff and parents were also present to celebrate this day.

The event was graced by Mrs. Bushra, Chief Administrator of primary wing of Private Education Ministry. Other dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mr. D.K. Sharma, the Chairman of LOA; Dr. Shobha Vaddadhi, Principal of Global English School; Mr. John Simon, Group Manager of Al Mulla Group; Mr. Baljit Singh, Civil Engineer; Mrs. Sarita Singh, Spokesperson of LOA; Mr. Ramesh Suri, Engineer at Badar Al Mulla; Mrs. Abha Suri, a talented educationist; Mr. Lalit Aggarwal, Group Director of Fawaz Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Company; Mrs. Neelam Aggarwal, Senior Play Therapist; Dr. Santosh Surana, Consultant Radiologist, Farwaniya Hospital; Mrs. Subhadra Surana, Chief Technologist at the Faculty of Dentistry, Kuwait University and Mr. Mohan George, Manager of Safina Trading Company. It was for the first time in the history of LOA that the maximum numbers of the Management team were present for the occasion.



The programme was an amalgamation of various hues and the students spread the colours of peace and happiness. The school children showed various spellbound cultural activities through which they shown their hidden capabilities and capacities during their performances which was highly hailed by all presented on this occasion.
The celebrations began at 5:30 pm on a divine note with the recitation of a verse from the Holy Quran followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India. The school ground glowed with lights, yet shining brighter were the shining faces of students. It was made yet brighter with the ceremonious lamp conjointly lit by the esteemed dignitaries.

The students displayed an astonishing variety of talents by putting up a breath taking cultural programme that included dances, skits and songs.

LOA’s musical ensemble enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition of the music composed especially for the occasion and then the orchestra team performed, punctuating the evening with captivating array of tunes. The synchronized dance movements to the foot tapping music of ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ enthralled the audience.



Mrs. Asha Sharma formally welcomed the dignitaries in an eco friendly way. The progressive annual report was read by the Principal of the school, which was well supported with the power point presentation. In her report she highlighted the achievements of the school and students in various fields of excellence. Dr. Shobha Vaddadhi appreciated the achievements of the school during her speech.

And then the highlight of the most-anticipated day … Prize Distribution!

Beaming faces were seen coming back from the stage as prizes were given away to meritorious and outperforming students by the guests of honour. Prizes were conferred to deserving students for their excellence in extracurricular activities, sports, cultural activities etc. Meritorious students in academics and extra –curricular activities were felicitated.

Sarah Mary Paul of Class 11 was conferred with scholarship for her outstanding performance in academics. For the past three years she has been receiving this award from the Management. She was also conferred with a Scholar badge, Honour Roll award, Best All Round Student and Mentor award. The Management, Principal and Staff congratulate her on her success and achievement. Shamil Ayoob Khan was conferred with 22 carat gold medal for being the overall topper of Class 12 of the academic year 2015-16. He was even awarded with trophies for being the subject topper in two subjects, Business Studies and Economics.

On the occasion of our school Annual Day, the school journal ‘The Quest’ was launched by the chief guest Mrs. Bushra. After the release, the much awaited magazine was distributed among the guests of honour.

The French department celebrated the culture, language and ethos of France by performing a skit in French. ‘Nritya Natika’, a dance drama was performed by the students under the guidance and leadership of the teachers of Hindi department. The students captivated the audience with their mesmerizing Arabic dance performance. A healthy mind lives in healthy body. Health is wealth. Such proverbs were explained and portrayed beautifully through an Aerobic dance.

On this occasion, 22 teaching and non-teaching staff members were felicitated for completion of 5 years of their dedicated service to the institution by Mr. D.K. Sharma, the Chairman of LOA.

The events of the eventful evening came to an end with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Head Boy Shaikh Aymen and Head Girl Merin Maliyeckel.
