UK Cricket Club lifts the Champions Cup of Friday Cricket League – Season 3

In a tensed and nail biting match where fortunes kept changing at regular intervals, UKCC held on to their nerves and confidently sailed through to claim the Championship title of FCL-Season 3.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, TCC United started off well but lost the plot midway until it was the all-rounder Farhan Meer who took them to a respectable total of 109 after the allotted 16 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.

For UKCC it was once again Mohammed Sadiq who continued his amazing form in the tournament and did not disappoint in the finals too. Spirited bowling by TCC did give a few hiccups but it was their fielding that really let them down. Drop catches and you lose matches and this is exactly where the plot was lost. The confident batting lineup of UKCC saw their team through in the last over of the game.

The tournament, in its 3rd season organized by Friday Cricket League had 30 teams with more than 600 participating players. After the league matches and the playoffs, it drilled down to two of the best teams UKCC and TCC United; fighting for the title in the grand finale. The match turned out to be a true fit for the finals with all the tension, thrill, fun and excitement.

The event was graced by prominent personalities who gave their precious time to boost the morale of all teams and players. In the presentation, Director of Friday Cricket League, Asif Abdullah, welcomed and thanked the Chief Guest, The Honorable Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, Kuwait “Shri Shubashis Goldar” who was accompanied with the well renowned “Dr. Abdul Razzak Rumane”. He also thanked the Chairman of MGCC “Mr. Mahmoud Abdullah” for providing the ground and for being there to encourage the players. Also present for the event was Mr. Arif Kazi who is a known celebrity in the world of cinema. A producer, director and actor, he is also the president of Fankaar Arts and has been entertaining Kuwait for the last 30 years. Other guests who made the event special with their presence were Mr. Gulam Mohammed Thakur, Mr. Anand D’souza, Mr. Aslam Thakur and many more.
