IIK Diwali Mela 2016 - Competitions open to public

The registration for public to the much awaited IIK Diwali Mela 2016 begins today. As part of the Mega community event, IIK Diwali Mela, popular community portal IndiansinKuwait.com announces various competetions such as Fancy Dress Competition for Kids, Rangoli competition, Diwali Mithai Contest , Diwali Namkeen Contest, Painting Competition for Men and Dandya Dance Competition for the public.

All the competitions are organized by Indian Women in Kuwait - IWIK. IWIK has introduced 2 new competitions this year at IIK Diwali Mela 2016 which is Diwali Namkeen Contest and Painting Competition for Men.

The competitions will be held in the IIK Diwali Mela venue, which is at Al Zumerida Hall, Bida'a, Opp Salwa, Arabian Gulf Street, Kuwait on Friday, 21st October 2016.

Fancy dress competition will be held in two age group, ie children 0yrs to 7 years and 7+ years to 12 years group. Public can register for Diwali Mithai Contest or the Diwali Namkeen Contest, where the sweets / Namkeen should be prepared by the participant and brought to the Venue. One can either participate in Mithai or Namkeen Contest but not in both. The number of entries for these are limited to first few participants only due to space and time constraints. Any team with not more than 5 members can participate in the Rangoli competetion. Painting Competition is for Men Only above 18yrs. In Dandiya Competition two participants are required in a team. Participant should be 15 years or above. The Number of entries for Dandiya is limited.

The entry to all these competitions are free, but prior registration and confirmation is required.

Contests are open to any Indian citizen residing in Kuwait.

The full day Mega Community celebration, 'IIK Diwali Mela 2016', features first of its kind Mela by bringing all Indian associations together in a common platform. Variety of stalls featuring regional items from different parts of India will be the attraction in this Mela. Various Indian associations will present cultural shows showcasing regional and national flavors of India. Number of Games stall, ethnic products, etc will be present at the Mela.
