Indian director to make Hollywood film based on Kuwait war

Award winning Hollywood Director Mr. Sohan Roy announced his upcoming project based on the story of Kuwait war named as ‘Burning Wells’ during a press conference in Kuwait.

Hollywood film DAM 999 fame Sohan Roy said that the Burning Wells will be co-directed by veteran film director, I.V. Sasi, one of the most prolific filmmaker from Kerala with 145 movies to his credit. The project is estimated to be of US Dollar 25 million and is expected to be in theatres by end of 2018.

The movie would portray the life of a man who gets uprooted by the worst consequences of the infamous Kuwait war of 1990. The cast and crew of the film will witness actors with great acting poweress and exceptional technicians. The movie will be shot in Arabic, English and Hindi. The shooting of the movie will be starting in 2017.

Sohan Roy, who is also the Founder Chairman and CEO of Aries Group of Companies, earlier made his hollywood film DAM 999, which was a thought provoking movie on Dams and its effect on human life. The movie was well appreciated and found its place in many national and international film circuits. The movie also garnered 5 Oscar selections in 3 categories including Best Picture, Original Song (3 songs) and Original Score.

The ‘Burning Wells’ will feature the top most professionals and technicians from India. The team is considering the best from the industry including A R Rahman, Rasool Pookutty, for this project. Two top most artist from the Arab entertainment world also will feature in the film along with some Hollywood faces, Sohan Roy said.

With an aim to connect the best of both national and international cinema, the group is also conceptualised Project Indywood to facilitate and enter co-production model for international Projects. The 2nd edition of Indywood Film Carnival - Ultimate Film Carnival of the world shall be organised at the world’s largest integrated film studio, Ramoji film City, Hyderabad from September 24 – 27 September 2016.
