Minister of Public Labor and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair said on Tuesday that Shemlan Al-Roumi Mosque in Sharq district would be removed to a new location.

Speaking at a news conference, the minister indicated that the old mosque, a landmark of the national heritage, would not be demolished, it would be rather dismantled and re-constructed at another location, indicating that expansion of the first ring road required that the mosque be relocated.

A prototype structure of the old mosque would be installed at its original location. The minister affirmed keenness on taking into consideration legal and social issues when executing development projects.
