‘Protecting our mother tongue is the protection of our culture’ says N.S. Madhavan

Mr. N.S Madhavan, a renowned writer from Kerala, said that protecting our mother tongue is the same as protecting our culture and a good culture will keep violence and other evils away from the society. As the chief guest of the program, Mr. N.S Madhavan was delivering the key note address at the stage of ‘Samanwyam-2016’, the mega art & cultural program of Kerala Art Lovers Association, KALA Kuwait.

He mentioned that parents should be aware of the fact that proficiency in mother tongue would help their children to achieve success in life. Above anything else, language has an influence in the life of anyone. He pointed out that the ‘Free Malayalam Education Program’ being conducted by KALA Kuwait every year is becoming significant at this juncture. At the ‘Samanwyam-2016’ stage, Mr. N.S Madhavan formally inaugurated the Free Malayalam Education Program of Kala for the year 2016.

In the cultural conference chaired by the president of KALA Mr. R. Naganathan, Mr. C.K. Noushad, the General Secretary of KALA Kuwait welcomed the audience. The Indian Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Shubhashish Goldar inaugurated the program ‘Samanwyam-2016’. The logo of KALA ‘Girl with the Lamp’ was displayed on the stage.
Malayalam education program silver jubilee report was presented by the Mathrubhasha Samithi General Convener Mr. Sam Pynumoodu. Mrs. Sajitha Skariah, Mathrubhasha Samithi General Convener for 2016 also spoke on the Malayalam Education program activities planned for 2016. A souvenir prepared as part of the program was released by handing over the first copy to Mr. Mathews Varghese, Manager of BEC-Kuwait who were the main sponsors of the program. The novels of two popular writers in Kuwait- Mr. Preman Illath and Mr. Dharmaraj Madappally were also released on the stage.



Mementos were presented to the members of KALA (Mr. Suresh Thoampra- Director, Mr. Dilip Naderi- Story, Mr. Shamzu -Stage Settings) who worked for the drama ‘Murikku’ which worn the best drama award in the KSNA Drama competition for expatriates. Mementos were also presented to Mr. Mr. Mustafa Pattam Veedu, who is returning back to India permanently and to Mr.Diju Xavier, TACK best cricket player.

Prizes to the winners of Balakalamela conducted by KALA, Kuwait for the Indian students in April 2016 were also distributed in Samanwyam -2016.
Malayalam Education Program Silver Jubilee Celebrations committee chairman Mr. John Mathew, Vanithavedi-Kuwait President Mrs. Santha R Nair, Progressive Professional Forum President Mr. Vinod A P Nair and Master Advait Saji, Balavedi Kuwait felicitated the program. Mr. Saji Thomas Mathew, the General Convener of ‘Samanwyam -2016’ expressed vote of thanks.

In continuation of the Cultural conference, variety artistic and cultural programs were staged by the Balakalamela-2016 winners and the members of KALA from different units. In the evening, the ‘Sangeetha Sandhya’- a musical concert- led by the popular playback singers from Kerala Mrs. Lathika and Mr. Dinesh was admired by all made the evening a memorable one. As part of this ‘Samanwyam- 2016’, the cultural wing of KALA had also arranged a book exhibition where a number of books of the writers in Kuwait were displayed.
