ICSK Khaitan Invests Senate 2016-17

The Indian Community School Kuwait- Khaitan held a solemn Investiture Ceremony on 16th May, 2016 in the august presence of the distinguished Chief Guest Sister Serena, Principal of Carmel School, Kuwait and parents. The Investiture Ceremony is one of the significant occasions of the school where the newly selected senate members are officially vested with their responsibilities.

The ceremonial lamp was lit by the chief guest escorted by the Senate advisors Mrs. Jaya Nirmal and Mr. Mehdi Ali Khan and physical education teachers Mrs. Gincy Mathew and Mr. Tulsidas. The inspirational song sung by the choir was enthralling and apt for the occasion.

Finally, the most-awaited moment for new office bearers arrived: the investiture and oath taking ceremony. The chief guest Sister Serena invested the senate members, the house captains and vice-captains with the badges of office. The newly elected core senate members are Akhila Omanakuttan (President), Ayman Naeem (Sports Captain), Eisha Elizabeth Abraham (Arts Club Secretary), Ayisha Wafiya (Vice President), Mithuna Mathew (Ast. Arts Club Secretary) and Azam Kunjamad (Ast. Sports Captain)
The Principal K. Gangadhar Shirsath administered the oath to the members of the Senate, House Captains, House Prefects and Class Monitors. This was followed by a regenerative song sung by the newly-elected Senate as an expression of keeping their promises with unity and sincerity.

The chief guest Sister Serena was felicitated with a memorable memento by the Principal. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest emphasized on the qualities of the great leader. She inspired and blessed the newly elected students to shoulder their responsibilities with vigor.

Shanti house prefects were presented badges by the house mentors Mrs. Beena Jerome and Mrs. Vasanthi Suresh. Mrs. Sheela Binu and Mrs. Ambika Sivaprasad awarded the badges for Seva House Prefects. Sahyog House Prefects were presented badges by Mrs. Minerva Ramesh and Mrs. Sumita Shanmugham and finally, Mrs. Jaya Varghese and Mrs. Reena Sivaraman invested Santhosh House Prefects with badges.

Class monitors, who were nominated on the basis of discipline, academics and behavior, were also invested with badges by the physical education teachers. Vote of thanks proposed by the President of the School Senate Akhila Omanakuttan concluded the programme.
