KNet ready for Ramadan season for Cash withdrawal

Shared Electronic Banking Services Company (KNET) has prepared a special emergency plan for the coming Ramadan period if any ATM or POS machine malfunctions at any time. KNET CEO Abdullah Al-Ajmi expected demand on ATM cash withdrawals to increase during these period, which would also coincide with the approach of the summer vacation.

“We have over 600 ATMs in addition to 1,700 others belonging to banks operating in Kuwait, and 47,000 POS machines operating 24/7 at various stores and markets,” he explained. Ajmi added that the emergency plan includes increasing ATMs’ capacity, filling them with cash more than once a day, dividing Kuwait into sectors according
to withdrawal rates and providing company technicians on a 24/7 basis to handle any malfunction.
