Oil companies planning to change expat employees into contract-based

Oil sector companies are considering the option of changing permanent expatriate employees of Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and other relevant companies into contractbased employees. According to Arabic news paper Annahar daily, the oil companies are looking to move expatriate employees in administrative and secretarial sectors into contractbased employees. Once they are in contracts, they will receive only half the salaries that they currently receive and they will also be deprived of bonuses and benefits such as travel tickets, insurance and retirement bonus.
