Counterfeit drugs to be thoroughly eliminated

All forms of counterfeit medications will be thoroughly eliminated and legal action will be taken against companies involved in fraudulent processes, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said on Thursday.
In a press statement during a campaign to generate awareness on the perils of forged medications, head of the medical inspections department at the MoH Dr. Jaber Al-Khaldi said that the ministry has gotten rid of all advertisements of these products. The ministries of health and interior are continuously cooperating to take care of that issue, he added.
The campaign, hosted by the Avenues Mall, is part of efforts to inform the youth on potential ill effects of certain drugs. The MoH, over the last two years, has confiscated a total of 640 counterfeit products that have infiltrated the healthcare market.
