On Friday 25th March 2016 Maharashtra Mandal Kuwait (MMK) a socio – cultural organization of Marathi Speaking people from India in Kuwait organized a picnic for its members at a Kabd farm house, in Kuwait's rural area, a venue which is surrounded with lush green trees with all basic amenities perfectly suited for the occasion.

The general aim of picnic was to provide the members a feeling of spontaneity and creating those unexpected moments unlike a festival. The purpose was to ensure cohesion of members providing them with the much required break from their hectic schedules by involving them in games and other fun filled events with emphasis on entirely something fresh and community based. The excellent climate further aided our quest in this regards.

MMK had made arrangement for most of the members to travel by bus from Salmiya and Abu Halifa and some of the members travelled in their personal cars as well to the venue. The members were greeted with holi colours, exchanging pleasantries and served with hot sumptuous breakfast on arrival.

The session began with our main sponsor Mr. John Simon, Marketing Manager Al Mulla addressing the MMK members the importance of the mutual relation between MMK and AL Mulla and a promise to continue working together to the benefit of all entities.

After relaxation the MMK working committee members ensured the participation of the members in innovative group games categorized accordingly. In addition to the games there were exciting outdoor games like Kho-kho and the highlight was the much talked about “Ladies Cricket Match “appreciated by all participants and spectators alike. The kids enjoyed the quality time they spent in the swimming pool under the strict supervision of the MMK members and parents. The winners in individual games were rewarded by medals which were proudly displayed by kids and were indeed a matter of pride for parents as well.

The members were then treated with hot scrumptious lunch and desserts which was appreciated by all for its flavor suiting the taste buds. After the lunch it was again time for fun filled innovative couple games and the session was concluded by “Housie”. The members were served tea and the picnic was concluded.

We thank all the MMK members and volunteers of MMK committee who worked untiringly to select a new venue, co -ordinate seamlessly on all events and meticulous planning without which the picnic would not have been successful. We thank our sponsor AMX and wish to continue our association with them for the future endeavor.
