17 people arrested in fake domestic help office

Residency affairs department detectives arrested a number of African and Asian nationals who scammed people by offering illegal domestic help services. Police discovered the gang while inspecting domestic help offices, as they found an office that offered fake contracts and receipts to clients. Further investigations revealed that the suspects would make contact with domestic helpers and urge them to run away from their legal sponsors’ houses then facilitate for their illegal work. Police also raided four apartments operated by the gang and arrested 17 domestic helpers, including nine men and eight women.
