1069 expats arrested in Hawally raid

An intensive crackdown on illegal residents at Hawally area resulted in the arrest of 1069 expatriates for various law violations. The security campaign checked around 3437 expatriates and arrested 1069 for various charges.



According to Ministry statement, 68 people arrested for residency law violation, 39 people wanted for civil and criminal cases, 413 arrested without any valid document, 311 for labour law violation, 39 people for violating immoral activities, 18 people for possession of narcotic substances and 14 for consuming liquor and 6 arrested for theft case and 5 on charges of entering the country illegally. 130 people were with expired residence. Authorities also booked five vehicles.

As usual, the security men closed all areas, streets and roads to carry out the campaign in Hawally. Authorities also informed that similar campaign will continue in other parts of the country to target all illegal residents and requested the residents to carry all valid documents and cooperate with the authorities.
