Kindergarten Field Trip to the Local Market!

The Lower Kindergarten classes of Bhavan’s IES have had an exciting time visiting the local market last week. The thematic approach adopted at Bhavan help the tiny tots learn the concepts clearly by making connections to real life situations rather than relying on the bookish knowledge. The visit to the local market was indeed exhilarating and exciting for the kids as they enjoyed the sounds, sights, and the hustle and bustle akin to a market place. The field trip was organized in connection with the topic ‘Fruits and Vegetables.’ The kids had a wonderful time walking around the market. The children were introduced to the huge variety of fruits and vegetables by their teachers.
Back in school, the teachers discussed the nutritional value of fruits and vegetables. The importance of including vegetables and fruits in our diet has been emphasized by the teachers. The students were then directed to games, puzzles and coloring related to the theme ‘fruits and vegetables.
