Kuwait National U 19 Team Departs to Kaula Lumpur to Participate in ACC U 19 Premier Leauge 2015

Kuwait National U 19 squad brimming with great confidence and spirits left Kuwait to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to participate in the ACC U 19 Premier league 2015 which is to be played at three various grounds at Kuala Lumpur from August 28 to September 3, 2015. The six nation round robin league matches will be evenly contested in a highly competitive manner and the winner of the tournament will be eligible to qualify for the 2016 ICC under 19 world cup which is to be held in India.

The young Kuwait U 19 team will be led by Shahrukh Quddus and ably assisted by his deputy the experienced Meezan Ali who will be a great motivator to lead Kuwait team from the front. The young team will be out to ramp up the aggression levels when they face hostile challenge from teams to the likes of Afghanistan, Nepal, UAE, Saudi Arabia and host country Malaysia. The team consists of some young players who did well in the ACC U 16 tournament in 2015 and Kuwait Cricket’s vision to promote talented and eligible players to International level is expected to pay great dividend in the future.

The Kuwait U 19 squad had been practicing intensively during the past 8 weeks at Kuwait under the watchful eyes of Coach Kaleem Ul Hassan and his deputy Syed Saber Ali who are quite confident that their team can give Afghanistan, Nepal, UAE, Saudi Arabia & Malaysia a run for their money.

Arguably, one of the best places in the Asian regions to play cricket, hoist Malaysia has some best green tinged pitches and the climate at Kuala Lumpur produces surfaces that are generally more conducive to swing & seam bowling.

The young Kuwait ads are expected to perform well against some strong and more established teams.

Kuwait team will take on defending champions and hot favorites Afghanistan in their first match at Club Aman of August 28 and host Malaysia on the very next day. After a day’s break, Kuwait will play Saudi Arabia and then take on Nepal in back to back matches on August 31st & September 1st respectively. The last match against UAE will be on September 3rd 2015.
