KD 50 max pay increase for expats to be changed

The Manpower Public Authority is expected to change an order which restrict maximum annual salary increase for expatriates to 50 KD, local daily Kuwait Times reported citing Al Rai Arabic Newspaper.

Recently this rule was implemented based on a request from the Interior Ministry’s General Traffic Department to help reduce traffic jams and issuance of driver’s licenses to expatriates, as well as prevents manipulation in which some people change their salary to receive a driver’s license.

However, according to report, the sources admitted that applying the KD 50 maximum increase generally and forcing it on expatriates in all job fields is illogical.
