500 kilos of uneatable food destroyed

Kuwait Municipality carried out surprise inspection campaigns yesterday on all branches and warehouses of cooperative societies and supermarkets as part of the inspection during the holy month of Ramadan. Authorities destroyed about 500 kilos of uneatable food during the campaigns.

"We will continue our surprise inspection campaigns until we are assured that all food and products are fit for human consumption," Faleh Saad Al-Otaibi, Director of Hawally Governorate Municipality Administration said.

Ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, Kuwait Municipality has been intensifying its inspection of food shops, supermarkets and stores aimed at punishing violators; while emergency teams and regulatory bodies of the Hawally Governorate Municipality continue to follow the food's route or journey until they reach the consumer.
