KALA Kuwait to present ‘Aksharam - 2015’ this Friday

Kerala Art Lovers Association (KALA) Kuwait to mark the official launch of this year’s free Malayalam education program ‘Aksharam-2015,’ on May 22 10.30 am on May 22 at the Indian Community School, Khaitan, said office-bearers at a press meet held here. The preparations for the mega event are nearing completion, they informed.
Former Kerala Education Minister and eminent political leader M A Baby MLA will attend the event as the chief guest.
The silver jubilee celebrations of ‘Free Malayalam Education program’ will be inaugurated by well-known Malayalam writer A Sethumadhavan, popularly known as ‘Sethu’. The Indian embassy representatives will also participate in the function.
The prizes for the winners of ‘Balakalamela-2015’, the Interschool art & cultural competitions will be distributed during the event, organisers said. An introduction and release of poetry collection “Nilkunnavarkkoppam” authored by KALA-Kuwait member Peethan K Wayanad, sendoff to KALA members who leave Kuwait this year etc will also be held during the function.
Following the cultural meeting, there will be attractive display of different art forms by KALA members and selected programs from Balakalamela-2015. The highlight of the program is the gazal evening by noted stage performer and music director Shahabaz Aman and team from 6 pm. Noted tabla player from Kerala Roshan will be part of the team. T V Hikmath (President), Saji Thomas Mathew (Gen Secretary), J Saji (Gen Convener), R Naganadhan (Media Secretary), Sam Pynummodu (Convener, Mathrubhasha Samithi), Shaju V Hanif (Jt Secretary) and Sajeev M George (Vice President) were present at the press conference.
