60 days grace period for workers of suspended companies

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al- Subaih said that the Manpower Public Authority referred around 4,300 files of permanently suspended companies (under code 71) for investigation in 2014 and 2015. The minister explained that the concerned companies had violated law number 6/2010 pertaining with bringing workers from abroad or hiring local labor without actually providing them with real jobs or proving their need for such laborers. Subaih added that in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, workers registered with the violating companies would be given a grace period of 60 days to legalize their residency status.
