No mandoubs for firms with less than 25 workers

Monday, May 4, 2015

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Al-Subaih announced that it was decided to restrict allowing companies to have their own mandoubs (representatives) unless they have a minimum of 25 employees. She also said that it is not allowed to change job descriptions on work permits during their validity period and restrict annual salary raises to a maximum of KD 50 annually.

She anounced this after a joint meeting held with representatives from the Traffic Department and the Manpower Public Authority. This new regulation is to prevent manipulation of work permit and driving license procedures as a measure to reduce traffic congestions.
