Kuwait City MarThoma Parish Salmiya Prayer groups conducted its 8th annual Kudumba Sangamam with colorful events at Indian Community School, Salmiya. The programme started with an opening prayer by Mr Soman P. Mathai. Rev Sam T Koshy (Vicar, Kuwait City MarThoma Parish) presented the presidential address and inaugurated the program. Parimanam Manoj (General Convener) welcomed the guests and members, which was followed by Rev. Eapen Varghese’s felicitation speech.

There were choral renditions by Salmiya Zone prayer groups, Sevika Sangam, Edavaka Mission and the Sunday School students. Variety of programs included drama, fusion music, skit, dance, solo, mime and group songs. During the short breaks between each item, the audience was quizzed and those who responded with the right witty answers were awarded prizes. There was a special dedication of first-time school-going students, Ebala Susan Mathew, Evelyn Aliza Joshy, Leon Varghese Manoj, David Philip John and Irene Jess Thomas. As a surprise event, Achen and Kochamma were requested to cut their wedding anniversary cake on stage.

The grand finale was the one-and-a half hour drama named “Manasantharami” written by Mr. Joseph M.A. The play was based on the current scenario and trends where children (the new generation) send their parents to old-age homes.

Around 650 members participated in the family get-together, which concluded with a sumptuous dinner. The grand success of the event was due to the untiring efforts of the committee members under the leadership of Mr Joseph M.A., Mr Anil Thomas, Mr. Reji Varghese, Mr. Alex Lukose and Mr. Bobby Mathews. After the closing prayer by Mr. Babu Johnson, Mrs. Rachel Oommen proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Ansu Joseph and Ms. Nethu Elizabeth Thomas compered the program. >
