New proposal suggests KD 300 fee for driving license

The proposal to raise the fee to KD 500 for expatriates applying for a fresh driving license has reportedly been turned down, reports Arab Times daily citing Al-Rai Arabic News paper. According to daily, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al- Khalid has rejected the proposal to raise the fee to KD 500 and instead is reportedly in favor of KD 300. This is because the proposal is aimed at regulating traffic and not hindering expatriates from possessing a driving licence or a car.
