Two day weekly holidays not applicable for expat nurses

The two day weekly holiday announced by the authorities earlier this month is not applicable for expatriate nurse. Earlier this month, Kuwait Nursing Society Chairman Bader Al Enezi announced that the nursing staff at Ministry of Health will get two days weekly off starting from 19th of April 2015. However according to MoH under Secretary Dr Khalid AL Salawhi, this is only applicable to citizen of this country.

There is more than 18,000 nursing staff in various government hospitals and clinics across the country. At Present MoH nurses are getting 1 weekly off and are working in three shifts.
