Custom and drug enforcement officers in Shuwaikh sea port seized around two million Captagon pills smuggled inside construction materials shipped from Lebanon, the custom chief said Friday.

Khaled Al-Saif, Director General of the General Director of Customs, said "vigilance of custom officers prevented entry of this large quantity of narcotics (into Kuwait)."

Container inspectors and interior ministry's drug enforcement officers foiled an attempt to smuggle Captagon pills hidden inside construction materials shipped from Lebanon, Al-Saif told KUNA.

He said the officers arrested a number of people and were currently under interrogation.
