Driving Licenses issued prior to the new law are still valid

Director-General of Public Relations and Moral Guidance at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash has denied ‘rumors’ that the ministry plans to withdraw the valid driving licenses which were issued before the Ministerial Decree was issued making KD 600 salary mandatory and two years residence to acquire the driving licence, local daily reported.

Al-Hashash affirmed all driving licenses which were issued prior to the decree was issued for all professions are valid until the expiry of the licence.

According to report, these licences are subject to renewal for one year provided the profession is not changed.
