Trishna 9 Quiztival - NITCAA, Kuwait and FAIPS, Ahmadi win Overall Trophies

National Institute of Technology, Calicut Alumni Association, Kuwait (NITCAA) emerged overall champions in the inter alumni quiz for Kuwait Engineer’s Forum (KEF) and Fahaheel Al-Watanieh Indian Private School, Ahmadi (FAIPS) won the inter-school competition in the 9th edition of TRISHNA, the annual festival of quizzes organized by NITCAA, Kuwait Chapter on 17th April 2015 at Cambridge English School, Mangaf auditorium.

The quizzing wizard from Karnataka Quiz Association (KQA), Bangalore, India, Mr. Arun Hiregange was the Quiz Master yet again, his second outing in Kuwait. The competition was held in two sessions stretched over 13 hours and was aptly nicknamed by KQA as the Woodstock of quizzes. The inter-school quiz held in the morning session saw 63 teams from 12 schools fighting it out to establish intellectual supremacy. At the end of keenly contested rounds the following teams were declared winners:

Inter-School Quiz, Juniors:
1st Position: Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School (FAIPS), represented by Aaron John Thomas and Mohammad Jaffer.
2nd Position: Indian Learners Own Academy (ILOA) represented by C Mohammed Nawfal and Rueben Vinod Varghese
3rd Position: Salmiya Indian Model School (SIMS) represented by Hardik Pandey and Sehen Dilkush Gamhewa

Inter-School Quiz, Seniors:
1st Position: Mohsin Mustafa and Athul Suresh Krishnan of Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School (FAIPS)
2nd Position: Anirudha Ramesh and Mitoshi Nandi of Indian Educational School Kuwait (Bhavans)
3rd Position: Sanjay Samuel Mathew and Eshita Bansal of Gulf Indian School, Fahaheel.



The overall championship in the inter-school quiz was won by FAIPS, Ahmadi for the second year in a row, while Gulf Indian School was the runner-up and IES Kuwait (Bhavans) and Indian Learners Own Academy were the joint second runners-up.

The afternoon session exclusively for the children and family members of KEF consisting of eight constituent alumni associations had the inter-alumni quiz competitions in two categories. The following teams were adjudged as winners:

KEF Inter-alumni Quiz, Children:
1st Position: Trichur Engineering College Alumni Association (TECAA) represented by Aditya Anil, Athul Suresh Krishnan and Vijai Krishnan R
2nd Position: NITCAA represented by Aaron John Thomas, Rithika Cherukat and Thushar Madhu
3rd Position: College of Engineering, Trivandrum Alumni association (CETAA) represented by Mukul Desh, Jose Sebastian Mattam and Rohan Saji John

KEF Inter-alumni Quiz, Family Trio:
1st Position: Dr. Biji Thomas, Mrs.Shilpa Nair and Jaidev Shriram of NITCAA, Kuwait.
2nd Position: Ramesh Athreya, Mrs.Lallu T Pannackal and Anisha Ramesh of Keralite Engineers Association (KEA).
3rd Position: Prem Thomas, Mrs.Nirmala George and Shravan Madhu of Thangal Kunju Mussalair College of Engineering Alumni Association (TKMCEAA).

National Institute of Technology, Calicut Alumni Association, Kuwait (NITCAA) won the overall championship. Trichur Engineering College Alumni Association (TECAA) was the overall runner-up and Keralite Engineers Association (KEA) was the second runner up. NITCAA also won the first ever John Philipose Memorial Rolling Trophy instituted this year by CETAA for the Family Trio Team.



The prizes for Mahaquizzer Middle East Kuwait 2015, the solo written quiz researched by KQA and organized by NITCAA on 30th January, 2015 as well as the KEF online Quizzes were also distributed. Mr. Shakir Reshamwala was crowned MahaQuizzer ME- Kuwait 2015. Mr. Debanjan Bhattacharya was the runner up and Mohsin Mustafa and Rohan Saji John were the second runners up. Prizes were also awarded to Mrs. Sudha Eleswarapu, Mrs. Lovely Sasidharan and Mrs. Sabiha Bilgrami in the Ladies Category for positions 1, 2, and 3 respectively. The other winners were: Students 8th standard and above: 1. Mohsin Mustafa, 2. R. Vijai Krishnan and 3. Sanjay Samuel Mathew; Students 7th standard and below: 1. Rohan Saji John, 2. Aaron John Thomas and 3. Jason Elijah Miranda.

Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School was awarded the title “the best Participating school”, Gulf Indian School, Fahaheel the runner up and United Indian School the second runner up.
Rithika Cherukat was the Girl Topper and Diya Desh, the youngest participant.

The prizes for the winners were distributed in the ceremony presided over by NITCAA President Mr. George Samuel, the Quiz Master Mr. Arun Hiregange, KEF GC Mr. G Santosh Kumar and NITCAA General Secretary Mr.Jayan C.R.
