Future Eye Theatre celebrates anniversary

Celebrated Indian theatre director and dramaturge Sankar Ventakeswaran inaugurated the fifth anniversary celebration of Future Eye Theatre, Kuwait at a glittering ceremony at the Indian Community School (Senior), Salmiya on last Friday evening. Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Kuwait Chapter Chairman Vijay Karayil attended the celebration as the guest of honor and briefly addressed the gathering. Ceasars Travel Group CEO P N J Kumar joined the office-bearers in lighting the lamp.



Future Eye Theatre president Sajeev K Peter presided over the meeting while programme Convener and vice president Shemej Kumar K K spoke about the fifth anniversary celebrations.
General Convener Govind Santha welcomed the gathering and Ladies Wing convener Rajeshwari Subbaraman proposed a vote of thanks.



General convener A R Subbaraman honored Babu Chakola with a memento for winning Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi’s prestigious Kalashri Award in 2014. Sunil K Cherian was honored by Praveen Aduthila for winning best script writer award in this year’s Gulf pravasi theatre competition organized by the KSNA. Treesa Wilson was presented a memento by Rajeshwari Subbaraman for bagging the best actress award in the competition.



Future Eye Theatre member Geetha Nair was presented a farewell memento as a token of appreciation by Deepak L B Nair. A video CD comprising her poems was also released on the occasion. Dr Prathap Unnithan anchored the event.




Following the inaugural session, Future Eye Theatre presented its fourth production ‘Puzhayil, Ilayil, Oru Urumpu’ which was written by Sunil K Cherian and directed by Sajeev K Peter.
The play portrays the existential angst of a Gulf returnee and his struggle with a hostile neighbor and the society in Kerala. As the protagonist faces off the evil around him, he drifts into a world of virtue goodness and fantasy.




The cast includes Govind Santha, Vattiyoorkavu Krishnakumar, Liva Maria, Remya Ratheesh, Praveen Aduthila, Subbaraman A R, Aneeshkumar Adoor, Jithesh Nair, Alma Treesa and Shreya Sajeev. The drama’s artistic director is Shemejkumar K K, assistant director is Dr Prthap Unnithan, choreographer is Sherly Thomas and music director is Deepak L B Nair.



The light and sound for the drama was provided by Varghese Paul while Paul Chamayam did the makeup.
