KD 250 bank warranty for companies to issue work permits

A decision on activating the KD 250 bank warranty condition for companies wishing to issue work permits for every laborer brought from outside the country will take effect on April 1, 2015, a government official said.

According to local report, companies wishing to do so are also encouraged to open the needed bank accounts and provide the Manpower Public Authority with their numbers so that the work permits they need could be issued, the authority’s General Director Jamal Al Dousary said. He did not provide a date for when the authority will reopen foreign laborers’ recruitment from outside.

Allowing private companies to recruit workers from outside has been closed since last year pending efforts to introduce better labor regulations.
