MoH changes mechanism of recruiting Indian nurses

Ministry of Health’s Assistant Undersecretary for Allied Health Services Dr Jamal Al-Harbi disclosed that the ministry has changed the mechanism of recruiting Indian nurses and government institutions will be managing affairs in future rather than private sector.

MoH Assistant Undersecretary held various meetings with the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sunil Jain to find lasting solution to the problem of recruitment of Indian nurses after the ministry received an official complaint from its counterpart in India indicating some companies were collecting thousands of US dollars in bribe from Indian nurses for their recruitment.

Last week India government had banned private recruiting agencies from recruiting nurses to Kuwait and delegate two government accredited institutions to handle issues nurses recruitment to Kuwait. The officials of these institutions are expected to visit Kuwait by the end of April and will meet with the Minister of Health Dr Ali Al-Obaidi and officials of the Legal Affairs Department to conclude the procedures.
