Health Ministry kicks off tuberculosis awareness campaign

The Ministry of Health announced Monday the launch of its awareness campaign on tuberculosis, in coordination with anti-tuberculosis unit, under slogan "we reach, treat, to cure all," aiming to acknowledge and educate public on tuberculosis.

The campaign includes awareness activities for all staff workers at the ministry's various departments such as Primary Care, School Health, and Public Health, in addition to preventive health centers in all areas in the country, Dr. Ghalia Al-Mutairi, Director of the Information Department at the ministry, stated to KUNA.
The campaign's events are to showcase awareness films, host symposiums, and provide educational pamphlets prepared by the ministry's information department in accordance with the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommendations, Al-Mutairi added, noting that the campaign coincides with World Tuberculosis Day, falling on March 24th each year.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kholoud Al-Hamdan, director of the anti-tuberculosis unit at the ministry, stressed the importance of such awareness campaigns in educating citizens and residents on tuberculosis, adding that her unit, in cooperation with educational departments at Abdulrahman Al-Dakhel school in Ali Sabah Al-Salem area, has recently organized a an awareness lecture on tuberculosis for students, parents, and teachers. div>
