Al Kout mall is preparing for a four day celebration on the occasion of Kuwait’s National and Liberation days set to take place from February 25th till February 28th, with a live museum showcasing Kuwait’s history and heritage.

The main theme of the celebrations is Kuwait’s sea and desert life, with a live performance of marine arts emulating pear diving and fishing, taking place on a large dhow in the Al Kout Marina. This will be accompanied by a large Kuwaiti folk band performing around the Al Kout fountains, with the fountains themselves also having a display of fishers and pear divers, showcasing the traditional acts.

A traditional corner giving a taste of desert life can also be found, with a tent containing a falconer and his falcons, as well as a camel for the perfect photo opportunity for the kids.

Further off you can find a traditional souq with local ware being made such as the traditional Kuwaiti Bisht, Basket weaving, Henna art and Bukhor, scents and perfumes being sold. Alongside will be many kid’s games and activities for both the old and young to enjoy the celebrations.

“We want to take our visitors on a journey through their heritage,” said Nermeen Bishady, Marketing Manager of Al Kout. “We want Kuwait to experience traditional Kuwaiti life in a live museum setting and bring their roots to life. Al Kout is the perfect setting for this due to its location on the waterfront, traditional architecture, and the fact that it’s name Al Kout is Kuwait’s old name, and we are extremely happy to bring this to the people.” /div>
