ICSK Conducts Graduation Ceremony 2015

The Indian Community School Kuwait accorded a grand farewell to the outgoing students of class 12, 2014-15 batch, on Wednesday, 18th February, 2015. The Ambassador of India to Kuwait Mr. Sunil Jain was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Ms. Gloria Agaronova, Attaché, Protocol Affairs and Mr.Ayaz Ismagilov, Attaché, General Affairs from the Russian Embassy were the special invitees at the ceremony.

The graduation ceremony began with dazzling tunes of patriotism and diligence both to motherland India and to Kuwait. The invocation of the divine, by lighting the ceremonial lamp, filled the atmosphere with serenity and solemnity appropriate to the occasion. Principal of ICSK Senior Dr .V. Binumon welcomed the dignitaries, parents and the students of class 12. He expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to all the guests for their gracious presence on the solemn occasion. In his welcome speech, the Principal advised the students to set the sky as the limit and to be enterprising enough to attune to the winds of change to be successful in life. Mr. Bobby Mathew, the Honorary Vice-Chairman to the ICSK Board of Trustees, delivered the Presidential address. He wished the ‘Granduants’ all the best for the years to come and urged them to maintain a positive attitude and great self-confidence. The Vice-Chairman also shared the plans for strategic changes in the fees and salary structure of the school. He appreciated the dedication, hard work and team spirit of ICSK faculty for bringing out the best in the students.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Sunil Jain, the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, addressed the gathering in his amiable and lucid style. He reminded the students to maintain their love for the motherland. Words of wisdom and blessings tinged with the strong flavor of patriotism enthralled the audience and students alike. “Music is the literature of the heart; it commences where speech ends.” Swaranjali, the music band of ICSK Senior rendered a beautiful melody inspiring the students to spread their wings out into the vast world.

Honorary Vice-Chairman to the ICSK Board of Trustees Mr. Bobby Mathew and the honorary secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil presented mementoes to the chief guest and special invitees for the ceremony. Nostalgia rained in as student representatives shared their reminiscences of school life. Sweet and bitter memories shared in the tanginess of tears of separation left the audience emotional. Mementoes and convocation certificates were distributed to the students by the esteemed guests. Students, along with their proud parents, accepted the mementoes.

A vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Susan Rajesh Pothen, the head of the Economics department, who coordinated the graduation ceremony 2015. She extended warm gratitude to all for their presence and for blessing the graduates. Lighting of the candles followed. Lit candles were passed on by the teachers to the students depicting the passing on of knowledge. Dr. Sam T. Kuruvilla, Vice-Principal of ICSK Senior administered the exhortation ceremony where-in the oath was repeated by the students. As the melodies of the ‘song of retreat’ wafted in, the students, with their enlightened self, walked out into the wide world through the showers of blessing bestowed by parents and teachers.

The mega successful event was blessed by the presence of Hon. Vice-Chairman to the Board of Trustees Mr. Bobby Mathew, Hon. Secretary Mr. Vijay Karayil, Hon. Joint Secretaries Dr. Kamlesh Kumari and Mr. George Mathew; Hon Members of the Council of elders Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba, Mr. Saifi Katabjiwala and Mr. Tony Jashanmal; Hon. Members Mr. S K Wadhawan, Mr. Anant Kapadia, Mr. Joseph Panicker, Mr. Shahriyar Chowgle, Mr. Binoy Thomas, Mrs. Vardhana Rajesh, Mr. Sheffik Abdul Aziz; PAC members and Principals and Vice-Principals of all the branches.
