Kuwait Canara Welfare Association held annual General Body

Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premier Catholic Association in Kuwait, held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 20th February 2015 in Indian Community School auditorium, Amman Branch, Salmiya. The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Ms.Freya Saldanha. President, Mr.Anil Fernandes heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement.

Various Reports were presented and appreciated by all. Mr.Louis D’costa and Ms.Reema D'Souza presented Minutes of last GBM and activity reports respectively. Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Mr.Gilbert Mathias, Mr.Praveen Menezes and Mr.Vijay D’souza respectively. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Mr.Rajesh Aranha. Sports activity updates were presented by Dr.Manohar Prabhu. Lucky draw was held for the members present at the venue. Ms.Maria Gracy Noronha emerged as the lucky winner. KCWA Spiritual director, Fr. Noel D'Almeida, lauded the works and achievements of KCWA.

KCWA Managing Committee Elections for the term 2015-2017 shall be held on Friday, 20th March 2015 at ICSK Amman, Salmiya. Ms.Ailene Cornelio, Mr.Marian Fernandes along with President Mr.Anil Fernandes were chosen as the members of Election Commission. President Mr.Anil Fernandes briefed the gathering about the election procedures and requested talented members to contest for various posts and to take KCWA to greater heights by joining the Managing Committee.

Lancy Rodrigues proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer.The meeting ended by singing hymn 'Deva Dayaal'.

Vice President Mr.Deepak Andrade was the moderator. Mr.Alban D'Souza captured the event through his skills in photography. Mr.Stevan Misquith facilitated power point presentation. Sound system was provided by Mr.Anand D’souza (illuminations). The projector was provided by Mr.Walter Saldanha. Dinner was serverd by M&M confectionary & Caterers. Around 100 members and their families were present.

KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management of ICSK Salmiya for providing the auditorium.
