Kuwait Chapter of FOSA (Farook College Old Students’ Association) held a workshop in ‘Parenting is not a Magic but Wonder’ by renowned Sociologist, Writer and Counselor Dr N.P. Hafiz Mohamad at Kuwait Medical Association Hall, Jabriya on February 13, 2015. The function started with recitation of holy Qur’an by Basit Ashraf, and the inaugural ceremony was presided over by Mohammed Rafi, President of FOSA Kuwait. Riyas Ahmed, General Secretary welcomed the gathering. FOSA honored Dr N.P. Hafiz Mohamad by presenting a memento to him by Mr Ayoub Kecheri, Regional Director of Grand Hyper Market Kuwait. The Felicitation speech was delivered by Mr Siddique Valiyakath, President of FIMA, Kuwait.
Dr N.P Hafiz Mohamad.he has presented the present scenario of Gulf parenting with its special features and traits.He also pointed out the problems generally observed among gulf parents. Most of the parents are not able to resolve many issues of their adolescent children. They are in difficulty in controlling mobile and internet abuse. Frequent conflicts took place when they interfere. Gulf parents who bring up their children with them also fail in inculcating sociability and many of them are in miserable conditions when children are sent back to India. In gulf countries there are no efficient intervention programs to resolve many of their issues like parent child conflict , adolescent love affairs, problems in goal setting and career guidance. When they emotionally involved in any behavioral problems, it becomes the worst. As such expats organizations ignore their burning issues and not organizing any effective programs for resolving. He also appreciated FOSA for taking over the challenge. The interactive session in workshop was useful for getting clarified the subject.
A team of FOSA members, Mr. Ahmed Koya KV, Basheer Batha, Imtiaz CEV, Rameez, Ashraf Mohammed Vakath, Ashraf Moosa, Subair MM, Haneef Mohammed, Dr Mustafa and Kamal Koshani were on the forfront of the family meet that filled with fun and games.
