CBSE launches pre exam annual counselling for students and parents; T. Premkumar appointed for Kuwait

Aimed at providing psychological help to students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Tuesday started its second phase of tele-counselling for those who appeared for their Class 10 and 12 examinations.

The tele-counselling, which will begin from 2nd of February and will continue upto 20th April 2015, will have 72 principals, trained counsellors from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools and a few psychologists addressing psychological problems of the students.

While 62 counsellors are from India, 10 are located in various countries like Nepal, Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar), Oman, UAE (Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah) and Kuwait, the statement said.

Mr. T. Premkumar, Principal of India Educational School (Bhavans) who has assisted more than 20 class X and XII during the first phase is given the task to support children and parents in Kuwait who may need support during the second phase as well. The CBSE counselling is an outreach programme which is carefully designed keeping the heterogeneity of student’s population and geographical spread. CBSE Tele counselling is largely offered by trained counsellors and Principals from within CBSE affiliated schools located in India and outside India. It is a voluntary, free of cost service provided by the participants.
