Pathanamthitta District Association held New Year Celebrations & Farewell to Kaipattoor Thankachen

PATHANAMTHITTA DISTRICT ASSOCIATION (PDA), Kuwait in a glittering function held on 15th January 2015 celebrated New Year and offered a warm farewell to it’s celebrated literary figure among the expatriate community in Kuwait, Kaipattoor Thankachen. President Oommen George presided over the function and inaugurated the New Year celebrations. General Secretary Biju Kumbazha welcomed the gathering and General Convener Benny Pathanamthitta rendered Vote of Thanks. PDA’s 2015 New Year celebration and Farewell function was a well attended event with the elegant families of PDA and their children taking an active role in the participations.

Following the inauguration of the New Year Celebrations, a separate function was held to offer a memorable Farewell to Kaipattoor Thankachen, a prolific writer and social crusader of the Expatriate community in Kuwait and native of Kaipattoor Village in Pathanamthitta who retired from his employment to return to homeland. After an introductoryspeech by the President Oommen George, Kaipattoor Thankachen was felicitated by Senior Members of the Association and leaders of the various social and cultural organizations in Kuwait, which included:- Advisory Board Chairman, Jaikumar, Senior Advisory Board Members Raju Varghese, Geethakrishnan and John Mathew, Malayalam Media Forum Convener, Sathar Kunnil, prominent social personalities in Kuwait Sam Painummoodu, Advocate Thomas Panicker, Chessil Ramapuram, Raju Zachariahs, Kadavil Thomas Mathew, Jacob Channappetta, Saji Thomas Mathew, and poetess Lisy Kuriakose Elavinamannil. All extended their friendly greetings and best wishes to Kaipattoor Thankachen for a pleasant and productive life back home in India.

The felicitations were followed by presentation of a Memento to Kaipattoor Thankachen by the President. Association Vice President Murali Panicker and Senior Member of the Association, Kuriakose Kadammanitta jointly decorated Kaipattoor Thankachen with “Ponnaaada” on behalf of the Association. Kaipattoor Thanakchen replied to the felicitations and expressed his thanks to Pathanamthitta District Association and extended his best wishes to the Association for it’s future activities.

The cultural programs which followed the public function was enjoyed by all and presented an ample exposure of the talents of members of the Association and their children. Cultural programs included :-Ganamela featuring Kuwait’s Melody King Anwar Sarang, new singing sensations Sumi and Binoy Vazhamuttom, highly talented young Rinie Mariam Lal, and the promising Danie Thomas, Classical dance performed by the beautiful Asanda Mathew, solo dance by the charming and cute Baby Sneha Mariam and Mimics by Jibin.
